Peter Kidd Retains his Title as Club Champion

The competition began with entrants to the competition being randomly drawn into two leagues. All players had a specified time in which to arrange and complete their games with their respective opponents. All matches played were best of 3 and following completion of all games in each league the knockout games were played until 2 finalists were identified to play in the Final.

The final was played between Peter Kidd and Mike Stanton on 27 August, witnessed by club members.

Peter, who was playing to retain his title of Club Champion, got off to a storming start whilst Mike, who had played consistently well in his previous games, seemed to go off the boil at times. Peter meanwhile continued to shoot and point well until he had taken the match 2/3.

Chairman Nigel was present to congratulate both players at the end of the match. Having done so he then presented Peter with the Club Championship Trophy.
