NDL 2018 – Away Vs ABC Wasps
Monday 16th July 2018
Following a good home win, we hoped for another success against ABC Wasps at Kirdford.
However, after the first 3 games, we only managed one very close win from Maria and Gerard.
The second round brought us 3 wins leaving us with a 4/2 lead.
Hence we went into the third round feeling more confident with only one more win needed to take the match.
Unfortunately Mike S and Nigel were quickly dispatched beaten 13/5 followed by Mike G and Brenda beaten 13/8. The third match was proceeding slowly with the 2 teams swapping leads as it went along.
Just as the 50 minutes were up, the coche had been thrown with the score at 12/11 to ABC.
The lead swung from one team to another until ABC were holding and Gerard was left with 2 balls. He used the first to shoot the offending ball leaving Handcross on with just one ball. Gerard needed a good point which he produced with the final ball to take the game 13/12 and hence the match for Handcross. Well done to Gerard and Maria for taking the game and giving us a tight win.(Brenda Steptoe)
