Handcross Teams Fare Well at Oxshott Open

Oxshott Doubles 8th March

Four Handcross Members arrived in three mixed teams for this event. Tony Kidd was playing with Tony Mann,; Maria Cocozza with Peter Leatham-Kidd; and Nigel Sibbring with Martin Gordon.
After the morning leagues (rain also provided) Tony and Tony reached the Gold whilst the others were in the Silver. The first game after lunch was between our teams of Maria and Peter and Martin and Nigelwith Martin and Nigel winning the toss and taking the others up onto the beach ( yes, now Oxshott have a beach - but no buckets or spades provided!).  Martin and Nigel came out top and eventually won the Silver Competition and Maria and Peter the Silver Consallage.  Meanwhile the Tony and Tony team progressed well to reach the Main final to meet Karen Lombard and David Franco but alas came Runners-Up. So all three Handcross teams were in the money.
