Patrick De Ruyter, 1949 – 2025
With great sadness we announce the passing of Patrick De Ruyter, Co-Founder and former Honorary President of Handcross Pétanque
Patrick has been totally dedicated to Handcross Pétanque since its formation 30 years ago and actively supported the Club throughout its early years and beyond
At the outset Patrick opened up his sand school to provide a temporary piste for the Club members to play on until sufficient funds had been raised to negotiate for the building of a designated piste on Handcross Recreation Ground where the Club continues to play
The role that Patrick played is a legacy appreciated by all members
