Christmas Boules 2022

Those brave enough to withstand this very cold and cloudy day were nevertheless in good humour for the Club's annual Christmas Boules Melee.

Nigel opened the event by welcoming everybody and the first of the 3 timed games soon commenced on the wintery piste. Before the gong had sounded, the first round was quickly completed and once all scores had been recorded the second round began.

As the warm aroma of mulled wine began to drift across the hard, snowy piste the clouds started to muster. Some interesting games were taking place as both coche and boule swept across the icy surface.

Rain began to fall as the final round began, with particularly competitive play amongst those who saw themselves as potential winners.

The final gong soon sounded the end of the final game and as they returned to the cabine the cold wet players welcomed a hot cup of mulled wine and a slice of stolen, together with the mince pies which Stuart had kindly provided.

Play Commences

Before heralding the closure of the event, Nigel presented Trish and Gerard, the winning lady and man with a small token of their achievement.

It had been a very seasonal event which everybody enjoyed.
