After a nervous first round Handcross secure a 7-2 home win against Crondall Panthers

The first to finish round 1 were John and Bill, going down 11-13. Supporting the other teams we saw Anne and Justin making their North Downs debut in a close match which they went on to win 13-11. The match on piste A was a shock as the two David’s were 10-4 down, but some fantastic shooting and pointing in the next end resulted in 6 points to level the match and go on to win 13-12.

Round two allowed us to secure the match with 3 wins: 13-9, 13-10 and 13-8, giving us the all-important 5 game lead. Round three gave us two more wins with the David and David maintaining their good campaign and Anne and Justin starting their campaign without loss.

The afternoon was rounded off with a good chat over refreshments. I hope I am speaking for all when I say we are making new friends in the other clubs.

Keith reported back that despite losing they all had a good time and they have invited us back on 6th June to gain revenge. To date I have 4 players available.

Next match 23rd May at home to the Oxshott Otters - that we have to play home and away by 14th June. This may be tight!

Handcross players to date: Anne, Brenda, Dave, Dave, Gary, John, Justin, Mike and Bill.
